ID.EGO.SUPEREGO. - A Review

Since I was a child, I was exposed to some rock alternative bands thanks to my big sister. That's the genre I grew up with. So when I grow older and she's already living her life almost always away from me and I, trying to figure myself out I managed to remain her influences with me. It became my guide. However, in my opinion when you mature personally and intellectually you'll figure out by yourself that you need to be more open minded to enjoy life and taste its different flavors. That's when I expose myself to different genre and different clothing style and different way of thinking. My playlist grew bigger ranging from Beetles to Ramones to Bob Marley to Beyonce to Jason Mraz and it and it will goes on. And when I checked this album out, I was awed!

The Calcul8n's Id.Ego.Superego.

Cohen's evolving music has reached its most epic level, yet. Id.Ego.Superego. is something you want to listen to when you're stuck in a traffic jam especially here in Manila and the rain is pouring. The music is soothing, his voice is reverberating with its lyrics inside my head even when I already turned off my player. This album is always giving me something that I can't figure out. Something that even other famous bands, artists, musicians cannot give me. It tries to go with every fiber in your being dissecting your life especially with your love life. It will made you think about your past relationship and your present and your future and you'll just smile.

Five thumbs up The Calcul8n!

I'm looking forward to review PaulKristian's songs. *I hope he could give me a free copy too.*

Have you heard about corrective rape?

Since I've been very busy these past few weeks (obviously) I never had the time to check my other online accounts such as Tumblr and Twitter. Though, I religiously update my Facebook account for no special reason. So back to the topic, I recently logged in my Tumblr and read about this shocking article.

It's about a woman who's a victim of the so-called corrective rape. Wherein, lesbians is the target victim. People who perform this malicious and stupid practice tries to straighten known lesbian by raping them and worst, some even mutilates the genitals. This senseless practice torture is widely known in South Africa and still goes on.  The only thing we can do now is to sign a petition to get the attention of their authorities.

Let us pray for the victims and pray that this will come to an end sooner.

So the ever mighty Rosh Paulo did not only took the spotlight as a band vocalist (that was ages ago) but also as an indie artist and a record producer. The multi-talented head of Green Tee Records is now a disc jockey at Party 934, 94.9FM Hudson Valley NY. No worries for not New Yorkers because it will have a live streaming at www.party934.com!

Listen to the pilot airing this Friday! His first guest is none other than Green Tee's very own Paul Kristian!

P.S
My mp3 player has a problem. I'll work on it soon.

Yesterday, I went to Green Tee Studio to fetch The Calcul8n album. And I heard good news from Rosh Paulo himself. Though I'm not gonna share it with you guys. It's still on the process so we don't wanna tell and jinx it.

To add, Green Tee Records official blog site was reformatted to a whole new updated, cooler look. Visit GTR here!

The Last Goodbye. NU107 :: Signed Off

I wrote this blog last night Nov. 7, 2010 around 11:50pm-12:00am and I'm supposed to post it at that same time but my wap connection was bitching with me. I'm going to post this even it's kinda late just to express my gratitude towards NU107. Here it goes:

This is the saddest night for one reason: Tonight is the last night of the only station I know by heart - NU107. I may have listened to them for only 8 years and intermittently but NU is the lone reason I, once in a while, listens to radio. The station has been with me in my numerous insomnia nights and comfort my emoness with those nonstop rock and roll music. I wrote every playlist and stairway to seven that I got chance to listen to in my spare high school notebook with doodles of my crushes' names side to side with jocks' names. And now, as I currently write this I am listening to Eraserheads' "Ang Huling El Bimbo" - the very last song NU played. I am almost crying and goose fleshing all over my body while Cris is signing off.

It is really a home; not just NU rock but also by people who knows how to rock. It is every one of us's comfort zone amidst those pop themed radio stations. I'm grateful that for many times, they effingly entertain me whenever I'm bored, lonely, happy, inspired and whatever. Thank you NU, you're now a legend and icon - not a living legend and icon like before though. Twenty-three years had gone so fast and now it's time to say bye-bye and like what NU jocks are always telling, music lives on! NU is forever in every fan's mind and heart!
